Essential Information
Davie County Virtual School allows students to access the full public school curriculum in grades 4-8
- Instruction in core subjects: English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies
- Elective offerings, including Physical Education, Health, Art and Career & Technical Education courses
- Academic enrichment and supports for the Academically and Intellectually Gifted and for Exceptional Children
Davie County Virtual School options for grades 9-12
- Virtual high school courses are offered through Davie County High School
- Virtual high school elective courses may be limited due to the nature of the course (i.e., automotive technology can not be a virtual elective due to the curriculum)
- Students still must complete an application for Davie County Virtual School at the Grades 9-12 button above
The Instructional Day
Students in grades 4-8 learn in a variety of instructional settings each day

Opportunities for enrichment activities both online and in-person

Daily morning meetings for school announcements and socialization

Time built in the daily schedule for students to work independently and seek help from teachers and counselor

Successful remote learners:

Engage in classroom activities by participating in class discussions and activities, collaborating with peers in breakout rooms, and completing work online

Independently or with the help from a parent will ask for help, email teachers, and organize their work for the day

Attend all live classes, and set aside time during the day to complete assignments

Eligibility
All students who live in the Davie County Schools district and are entering grades 4-8 in the 2022-2023 School year are invited to apply.
Application Timeline

The application period for the 2022-2023 school year ended on March 15, 2022. Please contact Principal Valerie Feezor at 336-751-5921 or feezorv@davie.k12.nc.us with further questions.

Notification of acceptance will take place the week of April 11, 2022

Student contracts for the 2022-2023 school year will be due by Friday, April 29, 2022
Please review the following requirements and guidelines:

Student attendance in live meetings and completion of assigned work is required each day. DCVS follows the same calendar as other DCS schools.

Students will occasionally be required to attend in-person events such as orientation, picking up instructional materials, and End-of-Grade Testing.

Parents of DCVS students are encouraged to take an active role in their child's learning by maintaining a routine schedule for school, monitoring student assignments and work, and communicating with the school regarding student attendance and progress.

A Chromebook will be provided to all students to use for class meetings, assignments, and other school activities. Families must maintain a reliable, high-speed internet connection at home.

Due to planning and staffing requirements of Davie County Schools, families must commit to a full year of enrollment at DCVS.
